The mission of the Community Relations ministry is to keep church members abreast of what’s happening in the community that may impact us directly or indirectly whether those issues are of a local, national, or international nature. It also provides an avenue where the church can assist both members and non-members by acting as a resource and catalyst for positive change. Our goal is to engage church members to help break down barriers that impede our progress spiritually, mentally, and physically. We also may engage with other like-minded and goal-oriented organizations to form coalitions to achieve goals that benefit our community.

Didache Teaching - Director Jackie George

Why Didache? We need to know God. The Word of God tells us who God is and who we are as His people. The Holy Spirit provides access to a personal relationship with God. We seek to know God, develop our relationships with Him, and understand what the Word says about living a resourceful, restorative, and revolutionary life.

As a church body blessed to be the descendants of Africans, as African Americans, their friends, kin, and fellow believers, we commit to learning the full story of Who God is.

We bring our lived experiences, our full history, and shared knowledge, and, just as those first Christians who based their lives and study on who we are because of His love, mercy, and grace, we dedicate ourselves to learning more about who we are, His will, plan, and purpose, and the story of how we got to this place, in this day, in such as time as this.

Didach Teaching happens in person every Sunday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, before the Sunday Celebration.

All are welcome, please join in the learning experience at 10201 Beacon Ave S. Tukwila WA 98178.

Women's Ministry - Director Mikayla Booker

The Women’s Ministry of House of Hope Fellowship is known as GEMS.

The name and purpose of the ministry is to encapsulate the value and virtue of women regardless of current conditions and/or circumstances. We will intentionally recognize, recover, and restore women by the Grace of God, and the Power of the Holy Ghost to a place of wholeness in Christ and Community. Because we recognize that we all have experiences that are nestled between both head and heart, which have shaped much of our perspectives, they also impact the fulfillment of promises and productivity.

As a result of this reality, we stand in the power of Proverbs 31:25 NLT,  “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”

Thus, the GEMS of House of Hope Fellowship are recognized by age as follows:

  • EMERALDS – Ages 50 yrs and Up

  • SAPPHIRES – Ages 30 yrs – 49 yrs

  • RUBIES – Ages 18 yrs – 29 yrs

  • DIAMONDS Ages 13 yrs – 17 yrs

Ages 12 years and under will continue as Lambs within the Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

Extra Mile Outreach - Director Helen Jones

We believe that outreach takes ministry reaching out of the four walls of the building and into the communities around us.  We want the work in the community to be a part of a truly holistic ministry through physical and spiritual investment. We are a Christ-centered, Resourceful, Restorative, Revolutionary, Forward-thinking, life-changing ministry committed to revitalizing our communities.

At House of Hope Fellowship, we do this through three areas that we call SHOW LOVE, SHARE CHRIST, and SERVE OTHERS. We show love and serve by planning events held at our church or in the community throughout the year.

  • We will lead by example and show compassion to all God’s people.

  • We will consider other creative ways to support our ministries and the church.

  • We will be prayerful, and present and will offer a helping hand in support of church events and activities.

  • We will research and learn what our community needs. What issues are affecting our church and neighborhoods? Once we know what issues need our help, then we can plan to support our communities.

  • We are looking to provide social events and activities throughout the community that will promote Godly relationships.

  • We plan to reach out and build positive relationships with non-profit organizations in the area.

  • We are seeking to forge a partnership with other churches to plan outreach opportunities in our communities.

  • We will offer opportunities for the youth and young adults to use their talents to further the kingdom and will encourage leadership over upcoming outreach ministries.

Extra Mile International - Director Ruth Normandia James

I started Ruth's Ministry in 2020 by helping my mom's friend by donating the items she requested.  Along the way, it became difficult to transport items to my mom's friend. My mom’s friend’s schedule was not like ours.  That's when we decided to box up the items for donations and send them out. In addition, that is when I felt the obligation to do more because the Philippines is my homeland. Using my cooking skills and my enjoyment of preparing food, I began to sell my baked goods to raise money for funding our ministry. The money raised from the fundraising was used for the Orphanage Village of Hope in Bohol Philippines.

After the success of our ministry to Village of Hope, we added Village Damanjug, which is in Cebu Philippines. At the beginning of 2023, we added the Village of Barangay Sibulan in Santa Cruz Philippines to expand our outreach to the Philippines.

In 2022, we partnered with the House of Hope Extra Mile Ministry to form the House of Hope Extra Mile International Ministry to support people in need internationally. This partnership has provided food, clothing, school supplies, and toys for the children of those villages.

In addition, we sent boxes of much-needed supplies to fifty pregnant women. The supplies enabled the women to be prepared for their newborn child. I have sent out items such as shoes and clothing to the Maui wildfire victims.

Movement Ministry - Director Lady LaShana Youngblood

“God made us in all our diversity from one original person, allowing each culture to have its own time to develop, giving each its place to live and thrive in its distinct ways. 27 His purpose in all this was that people of every culture and religion would search for this ultimate God, grope for Him in the darkness, as it were, hoping to find Him. Yet, in truth, God is not far from any of us. 28 For you know the saying, we live in God; we move in God; we exist in God.” Acts 17:26-28 (Voice)Vision StatementShekinah Expressions Movement Ministry exists to advance the Kingdom of God utilizing the vessels He has provided. Through various forms of worship arts (including dance, poetry, drama, etc., we yield to the Holy Spirit in expressions of praise, worship, and warfare. Our intentional engagement creates space and an atmosphere for God to move. So that we might edify the body and glorify God, we teach the necessity of:•Unceasing dialogue with God in prayer•Study and adherence to God’s Word•Training, putting into subjection, and disciplining our minds and bodies. The ministry's mandate is to bridge the gap in worship in our local communities and abroad between women and girls, and men and boys through movement. The joy of our Lord Jesus Christ is our motivation to move, and we are humbled by the opportunity to be conduits by which our Creator releases, reveals, and pours out His Spirit and fulfills His Work.
