House of Hope Fellowship History

House of Hope Fellowship: “A Blank Canvas For A Creative God.”

In June of 2022 a body of believers seeking continuous spiritual guidance gathered for an “interest meeting” via Zoom on June 8, 2022. There were approximately 36 people in attendance. It was a unanimous decision to move forward with forming a study/worship congregation.

Under the guidance of and obedience to the Holy Ghost Rev. Dr. Johnny Jernell Youngblood shared the description, distinction and direction of House of Hope Fellowship. After Dr. Youngblood’s presentation, the naming of the ministry was unanimously approved.

On June 19, 2022 (Juneteenth and Father’s Day) the first worship service was held on Zoom.

An in-person Fellowship service was held the following Sunday with Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Seattle where Pastor Youngblood was the guest preacher at their 10:30am worship service. The next Sunday, July 3rd, House of Hope Fellowship was blessed again to share an in-person fellowship experience with Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Seattle. Pastor Youngblood was the guest preacher at their 11:00am service.

As God’s Providential Will would have it, in mid-July Pastor George Noble contacted Pastor Youngblood after he was contacted by the owner of an available church building. On Wednesday July 27, 2022, this group of believers met at 10201 Beacon Ave S. Tukwila, Washington 98178 for a walkthrough to gauge the interest and possibility of occupancy. House of Hope Fellowship took occupancy of the location on Thursday September 1, 2022.

House of Hope Fellowship was blessed by prayerful guidance of Rev. Douglas Avilesbernal, Executive Minister of Evergreen Baptist Association, regarding documentation for formation with two financial seeds designated for new church plants. Concurrently, the Evergreen Baptist Association Black Caucus accepted House of Hope Fellowship and Rev. Dr. Johnny Jernell Youngblood as members by method of consensus.

The membership willingly recognizes God as the landlord of His House; and God has blessed the heart, head and hands of this ministry collectively and individually. This is certainly attributed to our church’s designated “Fast Day” on the 8th of each month.

Didache – The Teaching one of the 4 pillars of the Church

Through Didache, we pursue deeper knowledge of God, strengthen our relationship with Him, and seek wisdom on living a resourceful, restorative, and revolutionary life. Our studies help us understand His will, plan, and purpose, embracing the significance of our place in time. We study our history y’all and how God has had His hand over us along the way! We must learn from our past to inform the present and build our future.

Movement Ministry: Focuses on Worship Through Creative Expression

The Shekinah Expressions Movement Ministry advances the Kingdom of God through worship arts, including dance, poetry, and drama. Through these creative expressions, we yield to the Holy Spirit, praising, worshiping, and engaging in spiritual warfare.

Over the past four years, our Women’s Ministry-GEMs has hosted four in-house retreats and led Sunday morning worship services throughout the month of March, strengthening faith and fostering unity. This past March centered around the theme “Patiently waiting” Psalm 37:7.
